So i rode the **** out of my 12r the last few days it was nice out. After installing my new race kit i took a look at my rear tire and noticed it was a bit "shredded." Thats the best way i can describe it. Its hard to see it in a picture, but it defiantly looks like its been rode hard and put up wet. My question, is the tire still usable? Or should i just break down and get new ones? There is still a bit of life left in them.

Think you answered your own question. "Shredded" doesnt give us a good view of the condition of the tire. Put a penny in the tread head down wheres it at? How old and miles on them, and what are they? Wires showing? If not you werent hitting it hard enough.

No not at all. I just get concerned with the look of them and their ability to grip. The have the look that slicks get when riding hard at the track. Just not nearly as severe.

Nah youre good they are suppose to look like that! Especially softer tires, some of my friends that do multiple track days a year will run there outter tread to threads before calling them done. Sounds like they are finally broken in!
