Getting ready to start working on the bike (actually by working on the bike i mean doing the crank case breather mod) and as i'm about as mechanically inclined as a high school girl... i was wondering if you had any suggestions as to a specific torque wrench type and size that will come in handy for the majority of the BASIC work i will need to do on my bike in the near future.

other suggestions for essential tools (again for BASIC work) would be greatly appreciated [smirk]

do you need a torque wrench for the crang case breather mod???......

i dont recall using one...

i know it's probably not needed for the airbox screws but i have terrible luck with over/under tightening bolts so i didn't want to take any chances. Plus i figured it would come in handy further down the line

Yep, when you're torquing the blinker fluid. :D

I first bought a generic one for $20 at O'Reileys Autopoarts and it broke the first time I tried to use it. From there I spent about $90 craftsman from sears. I will rarely use one, but you can really find them for about as much as you would want to spend on them. They can get pretty expensive.

actually i was planning on getting it from sears :D
but yea, the price is the reason i was trying to make sure it would be able to cover as many jobs as possible

wow... just realized half the values on the firebolts torque chart are in inch lb

haha thanks anrkizm
