I bought a buell xb12s 2007 and it has a aftermarket fuel controller on it i had some idle issues so i decided to do a tps reset after doing that the bike ran terribly randomly i fixed it by reburning the stock eeprom and that made it idle good. after a week it started to rev weird so i tried to perform a tps reset and sure enough same result it broke the bike and i had to reburn the eeprom does anyone know why this is happening... Another important detail is even when i back out the idle cable as far as possible without dropping it i still can twist the throttle and get a tps reading what is going on ??

That is your problem. Completely remove it...clear all A/H fault codes....reset TPS in normal fashion

100% agree.

And after that, diagnose whatever is causing the idle issues. Real diagnosis, not repeatedly pushing re-set TPS and burning eeproms and hoping for the best.

Bear in mind, when you do a TPS reset on the Buell, you likely also need to do a TPS reset after on the aftermarket fuel controller 'cause it's driven by that same signal. But, I agree with the others, there isn't a need for one on these bikes, and I've lost count of how many times pulling a Powercommander has fixed odd issues at the track now...

okay so i pulled off the fuel controller and it seems to idle good, i took it for a ride and it ran rough in high rpm and when i got back i realized it was spewing gas out of the exhaust... how does this even happen and why was it not happening when i had a fuel controller ?

okay another update I found out the rear fuel injector wire was not making good contact and so it wasnt working i fixed that and now its not spewing gas unfortunately the gas got into the oil so im going to change that asap before starting it again.

i appreciate the advice unfortunately now after doing the oil change and putting it back together it runs like **** the idle is not consistent and when giving it throttle the rpms shoot up to 2-3k and it hangs for a second or two it also seems like the idle cable doesn't make as big of an impact on the idle speed as it should

i contacted the person Barrett mentioned but i definitely have been thinking it could be an air leak im going to check my intake gasket by spraying some carb cleaner at it well the bike is running, is there any other common things i should check?
