Howdy all. So, I am trying to reset my TPS. I am using ECMDroid. Everything seems to work well, however, I do not think I am actually resetting the TPS. When I started the process, the app recommended that I "back the throttle screw out", so I removed my airbox, and looked down at the idle screw adjustment. It was all the in. As in, the spring was completely compressed against the stop, as far "in" as it can go. I backed it out until the spring was loose, and followed the procedure to reset the TPS (open the throttle and slam it closed 2-3 times, then hit "TPS reset" and then hold it open for 5-6 seconds). After doing this, I restarted the bike. Basically, it will not idle. I cranked the screw down against the stop again (where it was to begin with), and the bike will idle, but at around 800rpm. ECUDriod rec's a setting of 1050-1100 RPM. However, I cannot get this setting b/c the screw hits the stop at 800rpm. My question is this, if I am in fact resetting the TPS, should I not be idling at some rpm, with the new setting and the screw all the way out? Where I am going wrong? It says to hold the throttle "open" for 5-6 seconds, but should it be WOT and not just open?

Thanks for any advice!

completely incorrect procedure. surprised it even started.

Just following ECUDroid's rec'd procedure for reset. ECMDroid does not have a read out for "throttle voltage", but otherwise the procedure looks very similar. Not sure what is incorrect, as I have described it, even after watching the video.

Make sure throttle is fully closed (this is the twist back and forth part).
Back idle adjustment screw/spring out so there is no load on it (this makes sure there is no load on the resting throttle, referred to as voltage in the video, but pretty much the same thing, right?).
Hit "reset" for TPS.
Adjust idle to recommended setting.

How is this different ?

I am on a 2005 xb12r.

Sorry didn't make it to that ECMDroid section, I will look again when I get home.

Problem solved, whoo-hoo!

There was a secondary confirmation to reset the TPS that appeared right over the "more" button at the bottom of my screen. I got it from the video. I figured if there was two confirmations, I should be getting that too. Well, throttle was really weird feeling for a while, but seems to be settling back into a normal pattern, except no pops through the airbox!

Thanks to all for the help!
