Got the ecmspy cable issue fixed, but now when I go to reset my tps, it won't go below 5.1%, that
s with the bike both cold and fully warmed up. Is this a sign of needing a new tps? am I missing something? I followed Dave's video to a T, but for some reason the % won't go below 5.1%.

edit: figured my tps value was fubar'd, so I did the reset. Now, in order for the bike to idle around 1000 rpm's the tps value is about 9%.

Bike's engine is cold now, at 9% reset?
I've had similar situations... by the second stop sign engine's idling at nearly 2k and I'm fumbling to find secret location of that damn cable-adjuster [smirk]

I'm having similar issues...I have to set mine to 7.5% and it sets at 2k sometimes at stop signs...I've been told that it is a sign of a TPS going bad. Not positive yet though...

So, would it be feasible for me to load my new eeprom on and ride the bike around? Or should I get a new tps first? Where would I get one, anyway? I checked Google and buellparts.net to no avail.

can you see it adjusting while doing it? if not you have to make sure that ecmspy is online and not offline. there is a difference between being connected to the open com port and being online. connected it and start the bike and make sure that you can see the values change on the overview screen (rpm's,battery,IAT,engine temp, etc.) and try adjusting from there. if the same thing happens you might have a bad tps. i had a hard time resetting my tps a while back and this helped. hope this helps. let us know how things work out

also i wouldnt load the new eeprom until you have verified that either the tps is bad or until you have tried what i explained above.

I plugged the bike in, clicked they keys button, and all the values came up on the screen. Temp, rpm, intake temp etc...I let the bike warm up to 140c before I reset the tps and it needed to be around 9% to idle.

Chech the voltage according to the manual to see if it's bad, go from there. I wouldn't start changing a bunch of things quite yet, as you could run into more problems.

I don`t know if it matters,it could be just me,but it seems to do better if you reset when bike is cold.I have xb9r and a xb12r.
The ecm program will go offline after the tps reset,so turn it back on,after the reset, set it to the values needed then run the bike up to temp. Also after a few turns hit the throttle once or twice(before the tps reset)sometimes numbers will still go down.
