As in transmission not transsexual (just to clarify)

Well my poor baby has been under the weather lately and I just ordered up some freshly used parts for her. The transmission has had troubles shifting into and out of 2nd gear, it holds the gear just fine however when it gets warm it just wont shift right. I checked the primary tension and also replaced the fluid and no change, so I ordered up a shift drum, forks and shift shaft from rrh481 here on the forum.

I'm not new to a wrench but I've never tore into a Twin before any tips or hints you guys might be able to offer up?

hey anrkizm95 you gonna give me another thumbs up? helping people out like crazy today.

LOL.. Yeah all forums are basically the same. everybody like to make fun of everybody else and crack crude sexual jokes... GOD I LOVE FORUMS... LOL but occasionally you do get some good info from these places:)so I'ma hold my breath and see what happens...

and BTW Ive been following this forum for a year now just never had any questions or valuable info to add

nice to know Kyle. It looks simplier then the I4's Im used to but reassurance is always welcomed

You're putting used tranny parts in, did I read that correctly?

Considering how long it takes and the couple hundred more dollars you're going to need to spend in gaskets/seals,etc, you should be putting brand new parts in and not take a chance with used.

It's a simple engine, I just got done rebuilding my engine and tranny for similar issues.

We haven't had to do any transmission work on a Buell or Evo Sportster in the last three years at the shop. I wouldn't go inside the transmission unless it flat won't shift. Look at clutch adjustment and all the related parts first.

The manual will have an Exploded view for you to go by.If you are not to sure make sure to mark everything as you go. Set enough time to do the job in a day. Plus tools etc.Use good fluids & good luck
