Transmission Delima

Couple of weeks ago, my Bolt threw me off after locking up the transmission (BTW... it's name is now "RED MEAT").
So I've managed to get the engine separated from the frame, and the primary cover off.
This is what I've found under the cover so far.

So now is the question, do I continue into this, knowing I've got huge transmission issues, or just bite the bullet and buy one of the engines from ebay and replace the whole thing...
Any opinions?

These all appear to be gear parts. Not parts of clutch basket

Wow wonder what could make that happen... I'm having tranny problems in my 05 xb12. It wont engage into 1st and the week before it happend my clutch kept going out of adjustment???

You found 2" of a metal ruler in your transmission?

firefighter that is good. I was going to suggest removing the West Virginia sprockets (no teeth).
Seriously though you may be able to get just a tranny from Buellsterparts as long as you dont think you damaged the motor. It would a least be worth a call or email to them, they are pretty cool guys.

I have got to admit, the ruler was a surprise!

The engine is fine, starts up, runs OK (As long as the clutch is pulled in...)
Just won't make the fun bits turn.

Great idea on the Buellsterparts! I'll get this the rest of the way pulled apart and see exactly what went boom and give them a call.
