Hello All:
I am a newer Bueller who is in the process of replacing the Transmission Sprocket on my '03 XB9R and have hit a huge snag. I attempted to find posts that addressed my issues but have not been successful.
I have removed the rear wheel not knowing that the DIY approach to this dilema would have been to loosen the sprocket with the wheel on so as to prevent it (the sprocket) from spinning. Does anyone have suggestions on how to complete my little project with the rear wheel off? I have already replaced the pulley and thus do not want to take the wheel apart just to perform this modification. I have purchased a 1'7/8'' socket to remove the lock nut but the manual and my local dealership say that I will still need to use the specail tools (see manual page 6-48) for securing the sprocket.
I do not want to damage my transmission nor do I want to take it to a dealership. If someone can either point me to an old post with good info or simply provide me some ideas, I would be very greatful. Thanks
Clayton
