Triple Tree Question

Does anyone know if you can swap the top triple tree clamp on an XB12s for the one on the xb12r? I wanted to move forward and drop my handle bars on my 12s to the 12r riding position. Anyone done that?

You cant swap the stock triple clamps. You wouldnt have anywhere to mount your fly screen, ECM, etc. I have seen some aftermarket clip-ons for the Lightnings out there though.

Ahh...I see what you mean. I didnt think they held anything other than the bars (I'm not looking at my bike). That sucks. The crossraod clip ons I've seen are'nt my favorite...and expensive. Could you use clip ons that just attach to the fork tubes?

My girlfriends neighbor used to race for Harley/Buell. I happened to talk to him this weekend and he's pretty sure we can fit some clip ons he has right to the fork tubes. We're gonna throw them on the next nice weekend we have here and see how it works out. I'll let you know.
