So I finally decided to try and play with ECMSPY on my bike and maybe play with the tune to get it slightly better especially in the cruise range. Mine studders when cruising in the 2K-2.5K. Only mod is a D&D pipe with the factory ECM and programming. Ok so I hook up to the diagnostic/tuning plug with my cable, open ECMSPY no connection, installed driver now connecting. Fetch EEPROM and save just fine, then try to do same for maps and realize I can't the fetch maps is grayed out. Quickly find out through searching that I will actually have to buy/donate to get ECMSPY mono in order to tune...
Worth it? Maybe but I don't have funds for that so searching leads me to TunerPro RT. Download it and begin reading on how to set everything up. Find all proper ADF XDF files etc. Fast forward to today when I connect to bike everything is working and communicating I start my first log. I've got blue connected box and then goes green when I start log... AWESOME! Go for a 20+ minute ride, balancing my Surface Pro in drawstring bag because one of the straps broke... Dang my luck, anyway the log was a success because I'm still alive, computer too, and the log is still on when I stop. Stop the log and save...
Now is where I am stuck, I cannot get the history tables to show the data. I know it worked because if I export and open in Excel it has all of the data from the log. My TPS is showing 10-bit, but everything I've read for ECMSPY and TunerPro RT shows 8-bit TPS data... I'm not sure where to go from here, tried Megalog Viewer (lite) again do not have money for the full version. I tried to use TunerPro RT MSQ Fuel Map Maker for MegaLog Viewer with no success as well. I will probably at some point register MLV so I can use VE Analyzer method described in the sticky on this board.
Does anyone know how to use TunerPro RT and willing to assist me with this tuning endeavor. I understand the principles enough to get me into trouble, but seems I am having a hard time with the software. Or if someone has an 08+ that they have successfully tuned using the free version of ECMSPY. Also open to opinions for other options as long as they are inexpensive. I like the idea of being able to create my own new maps, plan on an open airbox and eventually a K&N and want to get the best bang out of those parts and more importantly driveability and smooth response.
