Two-Bearing Rear Wheel

Mostly posting this to see if anyone is awake...

I have the original wheel from my '08 XT that has a 'deformed' right wheel bearing 'socket'. After a catastrophic bearing failure, I had it overbored, and a sleeve made. The sleeve, however, has an inside flange, and that throws the bearing spacing off. It ruined the new bearing I put in in about 100 miles. I gave up and bought a new 3-bearing wheel kit.

Anyhow, is there any value in the wheel, other than perhaps a planter, or is it destined to join the beer cans on my next trip to the metal recycler?

Steve: Probably worth $10 max at the aluminum recycling center. If it were mine I'd take 6 good pics and include a very accurate description of the hub problem and list it on Craigslist...FB market place...Ebay. It fits all XB models thru end of 2008 and a bit beyond for select 09-10 models and somebody out there looking for a cheap one they can attempt hub repairs on their own.

Hey John! Yeah - I thought about that. But I think shipping would be a killer. Not many XB's around here.

I may go ahead and list it on CL - it'd make a crappy planter!
