Ulysses air box cover

I bought a XB12 air box for my uly , I noticed that around the gas cap it is not vented like the stock Uly one . Is that going to be a problem ?

probably not much of a problem. air will get around the cover regardless. as long as more air can slip past the edges of the cover than the motor needs your fine. if the bike start to run rough at wide open throttle then I would suspect its not getting enough air and take some steps to fix that.
