Other than the right side scoop, is there any aftermarket part or upgraded fans that I can get?for my 09 xb12

The "Rider Comfort Kit" comes with a heat shield for the rear exhaust header that I heard helps a lot, and header wrap does a good job too

Uly Luigi, any idea if the heat shield is a direct bolt-on for an S? Is there another bracket piece that you need to buy (kinda like the factory RSS)? Sorry to hijack...I've just been thinking about doing this for a while.

yep, should bolt right up, haven't seen one in person, so don't know how it is attached, I think American Sport Bike has them tho

I like those oil coolers., like trey said how many rows does our stock cooler have

8 rows is what im seeing online

I wonder how much of a cooling difference/if it would be worth getting one that has more rows. Gotta be some specs somewhere someone did a test....?

Idk if those would look awkward or more. There clearly bigger than stock. Might stick out to far

Older than 08 should be the 6 row 08+ 8 row
I'd use a different mounting position for them if you went that route. Xopti is mounting his where the regulator is and moving the regulator.

the heat shield just clamps on to the header with 2 clamps. i just put one on. see pic below.

The Ulysses Comfort kit in my opinion by far is the best and Easiest to bolt right on. The rear Header Heat Shield is a godsend in traffic.
If you purchase the Whole Kit just don't install the rear fan cowl. The Right side scoop and Header Shield bolt on in just 20/minutes or so. leave just a small amount of space on the Header Shield so it does not touch the frame of the bike. Have fun with that and ride safe.*Jimi

I ended up ordering just the header heat shield and heat barrier tape from american sportbike

I wrapped my header, put on the heat shield, race fuel map (richer = cooler), and have a right side scoop coming. even without the scoop, the fan hardly comes on. And I live in 110-115 deg. weather. Makes a tremendous difference on engine running temp, fuel temp, and rider comfort.

I just added the RSS a week ago. It's night and day difference. Before, after every single ride/shutdown the fan would come on full blast for a while. I got used to it. But I installed the RSS last week and the fan hasn't turned on at all! The temp's haven't been too high lately, but I can def. tell that it's a night and day difference. My leg doesn't get as hot either.

If your thinking about buying a RSS, do it! It's more than worth the cost.

If you go to americansportbike, they have the clamps for the heat shield. Just look up Heat shield and additional equipment will come up with it.

I wrapped my header, installed the RSS and heat shield, and flashed the race map. 110° Vegas...fan hardly ever comes on. I have to go a long ways before my fan kicks on, usually it only kicks on for the cool down when I shut my bike off. No more pinging on the 91 octane fuel either.
