Upper tripple tree change???

Anyone done this or got a description on how the hell to change this? I have a Helibar and am switching back to a stock upper triple. Need help please???!!![confused]

Unbolt it from the top and slide it off. It's pretty easy. You have to loosen the clamps on the forks and take the chrome hex nut off of the steering stem. I used a rubber mallet to bump it of and bump the new on on. It will be a little off when putting it back on, you'll have to push the from wheel towards the bike a little while pushing the triple tree down.

How do I get the chrome nut off dave? I been wondering on that one!!! Do I need to have the bike on a stand or will a rear axel stand be ok? Thanks for the help

Rear stand will be fine.

At sears and other automotive stores they sell hex heads that fit in the slot lefty loosey

I used a rear stand both times, but I could be done without it I think. But I still recommend the rear stand.

The chrome round nut is a hex nut, so a allen wrench or hex socket takes it off

I have a large variety of Hex but I dont know if I have one that big? Anyone know the size? Thanks for the help this is one of the reasons I love this board!!

Mike find a bolt thats head fits into the hole, throw t nuts on the bolt and lock em together. Make your own socket!

I'm pretty sure its 3/8 I bout a set of the hex sockets its way easier to attach to a wrench than use a regular allen.
