Using brake lights as turnsignals

It may be a little tricky, how are the LEDs set-up? Is one light(left or right) a running light and one a brake light or is there a running LED and brake LED in each light? Are the LEDs on a solder board(probably) or a socket. Most LEDs solder boards have a cluster of LEDs where 2~3 sets of LEDs are in parallel in case 1 LED goes bad, you will only lose few LEDs instead of the whole board.
You may be able to separate a set from the cluster for turn signal, but if you lose one LED, the set will go bad and you will have no turn signal. Also, ther may not be enough current for the flasher to see one set and not flash.
If there is are 2 power wires one each light to run the running and brake light, you may be able to splice the turn signal into one set of power wires on the light. But if you splice the turn signal with the brake light, your may not see the turn signal flashing when brake is applied. If you splice with the running LED, which may run at a lower voltage, the flashing effect may be visible if the flash runs at a higher volyage. However, it may not flash since power is already going to the running LED and there may not be enough current to make the flasher run.
Another possibility is wire the turn signals to the running light LED backwards. Using opposite voltages at different power is a method of resistance not often used. Since these are Light Emitting Diodes, they only run power one direction as opposed to a regular lamp not caring. Anyways, you may be able to get the flasher to send in the voltage opposite the running light power and cancel out it's voltage causing a flash effect.
Never tried this so it would be experimental if you did. Maybe grab some alligator clips/test leads from Radio Shack and try all this before any crimping soldering or heat shrink.
 
It is simple If your running power to the brakes and or the running light then you can run seperate grounds that are wired to the signals and it will blink the left/right signal on and off giving you a signal.
