Vacuum under airbox ?!

Have some idle problems and when I changed the air filter, realized there is a vacuum (I guess) alone without hose. What's his purpose ? Is it supposed to be connected to something ?!?

Mine was like that too and i put a plug on it after seeing this in the manual. It seems most people have it open though

Used for California models that have a charcoal canister. It should be plugged off.

OH !!!! Could it be why my bike smells like raw gas when it's very hot and I park it in the garage ? I know my fitting is not plugged ! Could it be ?

yeah, that cap is ****, it gets dry rot from the heat an fall off.... happens a lot. I got some silicone ones ACE. Those last for ever.
