Ive never had to adjust valves but i cant see why that calculator wouldnt work. Seems to be a pretty basic math calculation. All they are doing is preventing you from having to convert units.
Their formula is
New shim(mm) = [measured clearance(in) - recommended clearance(in)]*25.4 + old shim(mm)
