warranty on headlights

i just bought my 05 firebolt about a month ago found out my headlights are under factory recall was wondering what they actually replace when you take it to the dealer

I wasn't aware the 05s had a recall on the headlights... Thought it was only the 03's

They replace the housing, after a couple years it starts to burn/erode. just had the recall done on mine before i put it away for the year

buell parts guy on here said to me if the head lights have a small textured center on the glass then the recall was done, if thats the case mine were still very dim with stock light bulb so I upgraded it to sylania silverstars for my low beam(i know i should replace both same timeand i will sringtime) and now its super bright I like it now, want to maybe get HID.

Not a recall, a customer satisfaction upgrade. December 10th was the deadline.

what year did the new XB_R firebolts get the new upgraded lights.
find that year or newer on ebay or somewhere or order it from dealer, or see if you can order it throught buell customer service

I've got a HID I've been looking to sell. I got a pair from DDM. Used both got the upgrade only want to put the low back in. Its a 4500k H3 for the XBR. Up for grabs still i'll say $20+ shipping from 96002 send pm.

HID won't make a difference if it's the recall issue. I have some pics on here showing the deterioration of the lining in the housing itself. It's the housing that needs to be replaced - bulb will likely burn out once the flaking touches it.
