$440 for the rotors, brake pads and bearings. $260 for the tires. Tire, rotors and bearing installation done by me.

you bought some good tires............nottttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt!!

really why spend good cash on good parts and then skimp on your tires man??

GOduc - what evidence to you have that they are sub-par tires? The OP's riding style may be such that his tire choice is what he wanted/needed.

BUT...if you have some data on these Avons, please share!

What's wrong with the tires. I have them on my bike and would buy another set. Good grip and good mileage. What more could you ask for? Also let us know what you think of the rotors. I'm in the market over the winter here.

avon shitters were on my buell the day i picked it up. dont have pics or anything, i would call myself a seasoned rider, 14 track days. and there is NO grip on these thigns whatsoever, i wouldnt lean these things over for any reason, even if it was 100 degrees out and sticky. all the evidence i have, i guess, they're a touring tire, and not where you get good grip.

i would go with something liek the dunlop q2-got 6000 miles out of my last set and i ride them like this. or the michelin pure's, or the continental race attack dots, and the bridgestone bt3rs, or the pirelli rossa corsa. all have very good grip and are DOT tires i have personally tried. i have run the avon and GOOD GRIP will never be in the same sentence

Rotors look the biz. You need to do the hidden caliper mod in the back.

I had Avons once before and they did fine. Tech's come a long way since; I'm sure they'll serve you well.

Bad ass. Looks awesom Wave rotors are def. on my list.

I got a brand new set of Avons free( can't remember the model) and the rear was showing cords at 800 miles. Now I will admit I didn't check the PSI till it was too late but I only had the tires on for like 6 weeks so... I'll never use Avon tires again. Free or not.

One of them is installed backwards. Which way is the correct direction for the rear rotor?

aibu bike looks great. It's nice to get new rubber regardless of brand- I'm sure they will be fine.

Looks awesome!

The Avons are some of the best ST tires there are. I've done almost 100k miles on them, I think you'll be very happy.

Saying that you should buy race/track day tires like pures or q2s rather than sport touring tires is just silly as they are for completely different purposes.

Goduc your complaining about tires and you say the Dunlop q2 are good? I've had two sets and they are garbage. Lasted me about 3000 miles and zero grip, the only tires I've liked are the pirellis and the Michelin power pures.

Before GOduc responds, and we have a shit storm up in here.

rrh i dont think anyone is going to take your word for anything on this website without proof.

BUT were theses the tires you had on when you were doing a 160mph on your buell? 160 is going to wear down your tire pretty fast man, good grip? They got you there didnt they?
