weird battery issues

hi all just come across a weird issue,my uly would randomley have the battery go flat,thought ok battery is a couple years old so i replaced it,,still doing it..hmmm,next step voltage regulator,,,na all good,,then while i had the plug apart inspected the contacts inside the plug....bingo...problem found..the contacts had obviously come loose and had arced and eaten themselves away,,so cut the plug out and hard wired them..problem cured,,back to 14.4v charge rate..so just a note if you have a random charging fault,check the big waterproof plug in behind the front pulley cover before you run out and buy a new battery or voltage regulator..cheers all...ian

They also make an updated plug that you can splice in ... I did that to mine ... was having the same issues as yours Neddz ... Took me about 20 mins to get mine on and back together ...

Here is a link to the piece Negative mentioned. Super easy and highly recommended. You lucked out that it only messed up the plug, in many instances it fries the VR.
