There have only been a few of us with XB's that have have charging issues. Most have been on the 1125's. When I had my charging problems(09 XB12ss) I purchased a new voltage regulator from Buellster Parts (new). It only lasted 2 days and was burnt up. So my advise to you is check the stator output. My stator was putting out 50+ volts and frying the voltage regulator. I am not familiar with the older models so that is the extent of the help I can give.Raz
