Being new to the whole bike scene I just bought my first bike. A new 08 XB12Ss. I went to all the dealers and looked and sat on everything. There are no buell dealers in my Province of Newfoundland so I relied on this website and youtube to pick out my new bike. I ordered it from another province and had it shipped to me even before i ever sat my ass on it.
Needless to say this site helped me pick out my bike. But I had a hard job picking out a helmet which i thought was as equally important as the bike. Thats why I am starting this topic.

I bought a Icon Airframe Helmet with the Seventh Seal graphics. I paid $300 bucks and Its the best helmet I have ever had on my melon. Heres the info...
Icon Airframe

What helmets do you guys use?

I'm an ICON fan myself. This is what I'm working with. [cool]

I have a Shoei RF-1000 for riding and a HJC AC12 for commuting to work. I ware the HJC because my head gets dirty at work sometimes and I don't want to get my Shoei dirty and nasty.

Arai Astral X...Kick ass helmet, it fits me like a glove! I will never buy a cheap helmet again.

I have a Shoei RF-1000 Picotte/Joker in Orange

I have a Scorpion EXO-200 in silver for the Vespa (great helmets, tons of bells whistles for a heck-of-a price)

and my most recent purchase and favorite I might add is my Suomy J18-Vandal (the padding has by far the softest, most comfortable fabric that has ever touched my face haha, and they use lots of glitter and metallic paints in their schemes/graphics so their helmets really pop and stand out in the sun)

LeFox, how do you like that Airoh. How much are they? I like the flip up helmets and had a Zamp but it didn't have enough chin room. I'm considering the Caberg rino because it is in my price range and I've read very favorable reviews of it but it's not available in the states yet. Have you had any experience with Caberg.

I have an HJC helmet but also just got a Simpson Outlaw Bandit- LeFox how do you like yours? Mine came with the clear lense but I just ordered the smoked one.

Joe Rocket Good Vs. Evil...Super comfy and light..only problem is with both upper vents open sounds like there is an F16 Following you down the highway. BTW..Dig that Bandit LeFox..reminds me of SnakeEyes from GI Joe :)

both are about the same quality and price range. if i'm not mistaking, the airoh has a bit more choice with some added options for different price ranges.
overall i'm pretty happy with it.
my girl has the older model and is also happy with it.

yea, they are standard with the clear lense and i bought the smoked lens with it.
for me, it was an expensive buy since there's only 1 importer here and his price is nuts, but i had to have it.
i rode with it for about & year, but when colder, your chin freezes since you can't close the front airducs. also, earplugs are a must in this helmet cause it's pretty noisy.
but the looks make up for all that :D

With the flip up helmets i find there is more wind noise. Do you guys find the same?
yea, the do create more noise that a closed one, but in summer when cruising you can flip them open and feel that nice breeze, which makes up for that little extra noise.
this airoh is still tons more quiet than the simpson
