What is the longest distance you have ridder your XB9R or XB12R?

Hello Buell fans,

Considering riding my XB9R to Key West(from Atlanta) curious what are the longest rides XB-R's have gone, not a Uly which is designed for long distance but an R...how far did you go did any components break? my 400Mile round trip around Georgia results in my rear bearings giving up the ghost, wondering what others' experiences have been?

i doubt you going 400 miles in one ride caused the bearings to go...probably was just time to replace them. i would think that personal comfort would be the biggest factor in your endeavor. after about 100 miles, i am ready for a break for a couple of hours. i think that 300 would be all i would want to do in a day; and i ride a lightning.

I did a 1600 km ride in one day a couple years ago. THE most comfortable bike I've ever been on. Your bearings should be good for a heck of a lot more distance than that. If it's ever been down, check the alignment of the swingarm, it may be causing the bearings to fail prematurely.

last week me and kid1620 went from st. louis to joplin then from joplin to anamosa ia. then back to st. louis all together it is 900-1000 mile ride. we did it tuesday-thursday. ride was fine for the first 250 miles then it started to get uncomfortable. bike is really not made for long distance riding in the comfort department.

I've done 352 in a day on my 9R. I could have gone more but 352 was my destination Another 100 probably would have been max though.

the most i have done was a little over 500miles in one day. i was on a xb12s so a little more upright but a lot more wind hitting hitting the face. now the only issues that i had was my right hand getting tired and my knees started acting up towards the end. would i do it again sure would and i would like to go longer some day.

road my xb9sx 750 to nc and back 3 times from michigan no failure.
the 1125r has been ridden home from there and there and back no failures in the long streches had a stator burn up and belt break while i was there.
all rides where iron butt just gas and food breaks

A little over 500 miles, stopping for gas on my XB9SX (with crossroad bars and tail lift) a couple weeks ago. No problems.

Done multiple 300 mile runs also with no issues.

I put 150+ miles a day x 5 days a week on my Cyclone. (Unless it's raining when I leave for work in the morning)

Milwaukee to Key West in two days on an 04 xb12R. Slept 6 hours in chattanooga. All together it was 1600 miles in a 36 hour window. Wouldn't recommend it but i had my bike in summerland key all summer. The bearings should be replaced as needed (have them checked each time you get new tires). You can also kill your bearings on accident if you pressure wash ur bike and accidentally hit your bearings every time. Im looking into one of those new seat from asb (the gel one looks nice for long rides), also look into your tire pressure, you want good wear for long rides. Also, tough out that southern heat and wear your gear, luckily my gear wasnt needed despite those crazy drivers in miami

I would love to do that ride. Next time im down that way I wish I could have my bike shipped to ft laterdle and ride the rest of the way. Should be a great ride!

Yup me and Jrage went about 502 miles in one day the only complaint from me was I didn't have a cruise control and my back got sunburnt to hell.

I did 1200 (601 miles one way, and then return trip - Indy to Huntsville and back) miles in 2 days on my S...Only problem I had on the way was that I developed the infamous fuel pump problem on the way down, but other than that, solid as a rock for the whole way. The only stops I had were fuel and rest. I don't think I'll be doing that again, but I ran 80-85 all the way, and a couple of 100+ sprints.
