what to look for with buying a buell?????????

im looking to buy a xb12r and i was wondering if there is anything to look out for common problems, ect. ive never owned a buell but ive had gsxr 600 and gsxr 1000. thanks for any advice or suggestions

what kind of mileage is on the bike? dealer or private?

what year?

Look for.

Pulsing when you apply the front brakes

Rear rocker oil leak (common problem)

Ask and see what ecm is in the bike and if its been tuned or programmed to accomadte for any modifications to the air-box, exhaust etc.

See if the guy or whoever has records of maintenance, this was a big one for me. The guy had all records from the day he bought the bike, receipts and such.

make sure you take it for a good long test ride.

Im forgetting lots but thats a start.

My question would be, why do you want an American VTwin after having I4's? They are very different bikes to be sure.

im just in the looking stage right now.

i started riding my uncles cruiser then bought my gsxr's and did that scene for 7 years. sold my gsxr1000 about 1 year ago and im starting to want a bike again. ive got a vtx1300 that a coworker has lift with me and lets me ride whenever i want but riding the cruiser siting up right hurts my back after a long joy ride. im looking at xb12r,rc51 tl1000 i just love the sound of the vtwin
