Riding shoes (love the look of these but not sure if they are worth it? Suggestions here would be great please)-
Alpinestars Shibuya Canvas Shoe

Pants for rain-
???

Misc-
???

Thanks a lot for any help or input.

what ever feels comfortable.. and what ever you can afford. not sure about rain gear it all depends on how many miles and what state you live in.

If your going to be commuting and want rain gear with you all the time, Frogg Togs work great and roll up into a little sack you can throw in a tail bag, or backpack easily. Very light and breathable, but 100% waterproof.

Tour Master makes some good stuff.
I have their Flex pants, has 2 different liners, rain and insulated, and they also turn into mesh.
Have their Solution boot, wear it almost all day, haven't even had damp socks yet.
I also have their 1pc Centurion suit.

Their prices aren't too bad, but they aren't the greatest looking stuff either, but they get the job done.

I have the frog toggs too, they are good "oh crap, got caught in the rain" gear but they won't hold up to daily wear. I wouldn't say they are exactly 100% waterproof, maybe more like 80%

my wife just bought me the drystar jacket. its pretty nice. waterproof and ok on the warm days and even better in the cold mornings. i just ordered the water proof pants to match

Thanks guys.

I should note that I live in nyc, so if it is going to rain super hard I will probably take the subway. I just want some gear that is relatively rain proof for those random showers.

True Ct1200, I suppose they arent 100% Honestly I have never gotten caught in a downpour in them luckily. But for a random shower they work pretty good.

Also Dynasty, check out www.njbuellowners.com. I know your in the city, but we arent too far away. I am over in passiac county, about 30 from the city.

Wouldn't worry about rain gear for commuting. If you planned the time for stopping and putting them on, you'd take the subway.

I believe in all the gear so no shoes, go with real boots.

I like the Buell Adventure pants which are similar to Joe Rocket.

In fact, I'd go all Joe Rocket but that's me.

Crashed twice and some broken bones but no road rash. The gear did its job.
