Whats the best solution to keep handgrips from sliding loose?

Never had the issue on a street bike before. Try taking them off and cleaning them and the bars really well. A lot of times guys lube them up good to be able to get them on, my guess is that yours may be full of lube still. On dirt bikes we twist wire all the time. It works just fine there, but those grips tend to be a little softer. Also, if you twist wire, place everything with intention. Sharp wire ends can ruin your grips and palms. You could just put bar ends on too, but that wont stop them from twisting if they are.

Mine have been moving a bit too since I put them on a few weeks ago. The left side doesn't bother me so much, but the throttle slide with slowly slide off the throttle tube a cm or so after a few days. I'll probably try a little hair spray under there.

I've always used hairspray on motorcycles and bicycles. Rain/water shouldn't be getting under the grips anyways if they fit correctly.

I safety wired mine on. Just twist the "pig tail" into the rubber. it's what they do on race bikes

Can someone explain the safety wire method? Every way I picture it in my head doesn't work. I assume if you put the wires on the bar first it would make the grips too hard to get on. I also figured once they grabbed the grip, the metal wire could just spin on the bars, considering metal is more slick than the rubber of your grips.

The wire is really thin, and actually does work good.Used to do that on my old yz490 dirtbike.
Put grip on first, then use safety wire about every inch or so.Wrap it tight, and tuck pigtails in like the other guys said. Thanks again for the feedback.

I used hairspray as well, as per recommendations. Slides on like lube, then holds strong.

I don't see how size is affecting things. You shouldn't have that much weight/squeeze on the bars. Most of your weight is around the seat and fuel tank. No reason to be on the thing with white knuckles after the first months of riding.

no white knuckles i f i lean in hard to the left the n the left grip slides a little, if i grip it tighter it will stay but i ride with a loose grip
