Hey guys need to pull the bearings to get my wheels powdercoated. According to my svc manual you "need" a special tool to pull/install them. Has anyone pulled/installed their bearings? I'm sure someone has just wanna know how they did it lol open to suggestions thanks ya'll

Blind bearing puller, about 30 bucks at Harbor Freight. That'll get them out, and you can replace (with new - not worth re-using the old - new ones are standard at a bearing house - no need to use Buell parts).

do not!use stock buell bearings they suck use the best ones you can get your hands on .

I use a long screwdriver and a rubber mallet to get them out and a rubber mallet to get them in. Its easier to get them in if you freeze them first also. I have used this method numerous times with no incidents.

One other thing, the new bearings from HD are black again, not orange. Part # E0005.02A8B rear, E0004.02A8B front. They are made by KBC.

Also, if you change them with each tire change you shouldnt have any failures.

I just had my my front wheel bearing fail on my 2010 xb12scg with 2500miles on it and yes they are kbc and made in taiwan spend afew extra bucks! thats not a part you want to fail at 60 mph!Timken

Wow, 2500 miles? I just changed the rear wheel on my 09 CR with 3300 miles and the bearings were good.

Just changed the back tire and bearings couple of weeks ago_Ordered my new NACHI bearings from ebay.:D
