Just bought an 06 XB9SX leftover and over the winter I will be messing around with it. What is best to use to tune it with...Palm or a Laptop and Why? Pros and Cons of each. What is easiest to use?

Be patient, this is pretty new to me...but I am a pretty quick learner.

Also which Palm does everyone else use....Seems to me the Palm E2 is the one to go with? Also I have never used a Palm....are they fairly simple?

you pretty much need both unless you're OK to lug a laptop around while you log.

- Palm rules for logging or quick info/tweaks while on the road. tiny and convenient.

- Laptop is a must for some of the features not included in the Palm s/w plus you're going to need Megalogviewer installed to analyze your log.

i'm using an E2 to log with but having spike issues, not sure if its my cable or the Palm itself. in general, Palms are pretty easy to use after you play with it for a bit. the hardest part might be making sure you can access the SD Card to get your logs off (they dont sync) along with building the cables for both PC and Palm (unless you find some ready to go)

so basically you connect the palm to the bike while driving....then hook palm into laptop and go from there.

I need to google this for more info by reading some of the posts on here I am missing some info.

easier to go straight to a laptop if you have one. its nice to have a full keyboard and a easy way to navigate. plus having larger screen to run 2 ECMspy's at one time if you need to verify maps and what not. the palm is good for logging but seems a lil harder to use the interface with.

just my .02
