If you can find a stock Buell custom seat, is it worth the money or is a Baldwin or something else the better way to go?

well i just got a Corbin and I love it..it replaced my stock scg seat which was decent but a bit too short for me

Thanks. I was looking on ebay and there have been a few of the Buell custom ones but they were wanting $300 to $350 used. Didnt think they were worth that since you could get them for $149 new through Buellparts at one time. I will keep my out for a deal, or look into the Baldwins if it starts to get pricey.

at 149 im pretty sure those arent custom, baldwins and corbins are in 400 area my corbin was like 439

i thought the same thing until i got my corbin, i think either balwin or corbin the ride difference is incredible, and my instructions said break in is about 1000mi. well after about 300 i already love it

I definitely suggest going with Baldwin. His seats are custom to your butt, where corbin is just a standard cookie cutter seat. I love mine (so does my wife!), and he really stands behind his product...Corbin's customer service has a rep for being horrible. Go with the Baldwin, you won't regret it!

The only issue I saw with the Baldwin or Corbin was it made the seat an inch or so higher than stock. I needed stock height but wanted more comfort on my 9R. I'm sending my seat out to Baldwin and am having a gel insert put in. They cut out a rectangle section from the stock foam and put in the gel insert for like $94.00 including return shipping.

I heard about customer service too, but I had zero issues and only a 2 week wait, as far as Corbin being cookie cutter, you can have them do basically anything u want not only that you don't need to lose any turn around while your seat is away, I have heard good things about Baldwin and would like to check them out. Maybe when I get my 1125 I'm looking for

Really? I almost bought a corbin (gunfighter and lady) before I found baldwin (almost as in was about to transmit my cc info), and they didn't offer any type of custom fit. I'm have an unusual inseam so was worried about getting a correct fit for a seat that was going to cost so much. All they offered me were different materials to cover the seat with, but the shape was a standard (i.e. cookie cutter) shape. If they are offering custom shaped seats my apologies for my misinformation!

Either way, I highly recommend Baldwin, he is a Buell enthusiast and makes a great fully custom seat. No worries about customer service with him!

You can get gel-inserts on ebay and do as Alfatango1 mentioned yourself.

I am thinking about carefully removing stock padding and make my own from a memory-foam pillow or something.
It might be worth a try and won't cost much if I'm not happy with the result...

Gel-inserts cost about $50 and a memory-foam pillow from china costs about $5

Just got my new seats in the mail. Only road the bike for about 10 miles but can already tell the difference. The driver seat is a little thicker so that even helps out with the leg room. Cant wait to have the lil lady try the back one. Im sure they are no Corbins, but I couldnt beat the price! :)

I was just looking for extras for the CR on Buellparts at the top of this page and remembered that the Firebolt seats are the same. I looked and there they had one of each left. I have seen these go for $200-$250 each USED on Ebay so I jumped on them!
They were $149 for main and $119 for the rear plus $9 shipping..
