Whoops, Got some brake fluid on my frame.

Got a small drop on my black frame. It ran and made a small line. This is an eye sore an is driving me nuts!

I cant seem to get it off of there. Looks like a stain.

Ideas?

At this point I hate to say it but I don't think there is anything you can do. Brake fluid is very corrosive.

Too late. Mine dripped on my frame and i have gad to accept the fact that i need a powder coat.

Yeah man that's not coming off. You'll have to see if you can find some paint to cover the spot up.

Well damn!

I thought it was just being stubborn and not coming off. Does not look like the coating is damaged, just a little darker.

Well hell, thanks for the input. Guess ill look into getting it re-coated next winter.

get some brake cleaner for future mishaps... the sooner you whipe it down, the less damage it does.

I don’t know about brake cleaner. It is a hot aggressive solvent and probably not the best stuff to put on our frames.

DOT-3 and 4 brake fluids are hygroscopic which means they readily absorb water. Wiping it with a dripping wet rag within a few seconds may have prevented the discoloration.

Wipe the Whole fram with it..........then it will match...

I have thought about this for a while because I have stains on my frame also. I just havent figured out what to use that will NOT cause the PC to peel.
