Ok I have a 08 1125r running ebr chain drive ebr ecm and barkers exhaust. The issue im having is small just annoying with the barkers exhaust being so loud

When in neutral the bike idles normally. As so as i shift into any gear and just hold the clutch in the idle jumps up to 3500 or more. It seems like a good idea as far as making it easier to accelerate. but in stop n go traffic where you dont want to find neutral every time its very annoying. My buddies 1225 does not do this at all. I hang test the stock ecm and same problem so i dont think its the ecm. Any ideas?

It's the IAC probably, and while the higher RPMs are normal when the clutch is let out, usually if the clutch is pulled in fully it will return to a normal idle program.

Check your clutch switch...

The race ECM does have a more generous IAC program than stock, so it should rev as much on a stock ECM.

New to bikes. Whats IAC And that sounds like it makes sence its a track bike not built by me its running a ducatti 1198 clutch I'll look for the switch but odds are ill have to find a way to get and make a ducatti switch work and i dont know anything about it
fun

That's your answer.

Your bike NEVER thinks the clutch is pulled in, so it's always in a mode of minimizing the engine braking, a standard function of the race ecm, and less so in the oem ecm.

IAC = idle air controller

your bike is functioning normally and correctly, especially for a track bike. Leave it alone.

yes, a correctly connected switch would probably change the behavior back to where the bike runs the neutral idle program with the clutch pulled in, but why on earth would you want that?

Thanks That is exactly what i figured out on my own playing with it. What i have decided i want to try and do is put the clutch switch on a toggle switch. On the track let it think the clutch is out. In town let it think the clutch is always in. unless there is something i dont know that makes this a problem.??? the only obvious one i saw it i could potentially engage the starter with it in gear.

That and you will be riding around on an idle program fuel map.

I have no idea if that's an issue or not.

If you ever want to trade out that chain kit for a belt drive, let me know ;) I could probably even toss in an extra set of wheels.

Ya i thought about that. I put it on a cheap toggle switch for right now. Solely for being to loud in traffic. After i get a few other things out of the way and the way i want ill order a ducati micro switch and fix it the way it should be.

I love the chain drive. I dont see myself wanting to get rid of it. But i will let you know if i think about it. Set of wheels barely does me good though. I'm running a R1 front suspension and Brake system and wheel.

The R1 front end is a nice "upgrade" to the stock 1125r system.

More wheel, brake, rotor, brake pad, and suspension options with that front end...

ha ha I pm'd him the other day about the same thing..
Oh and his seat! Crew you want to get rid of that f/g seat pan? You never answered my pm..

the seat pan i can probably part with. Sorry i only glanced over my pms. Im kinda one tracked mind right now trying to get these few issues with the bike resolved.
