It is still plenty warm where i am, but i plan on riding as much as i can this year throughout the winter as long as the roads are clean and dry. I have some good riding gear, besides warm weather gloves. I'm contemplating getting heated grips, or getting heated gloves.

I like the idea of the grips, because i could wear normal riding gloves, that aren't super bulky, yet still stay warm (hopefully)

then obviously there is no question about my hands staying warm with the gloves, but I will have to wear a bulky glove, and unplug myself every time i stop or pull over.

I've also seen those Hippo Hand guards before. They sure are ugly, but i imagine they work pretty well, and would make using heated grips and normal gloves even better. I'm only going to be riding longer this year because i'm moving, and my commute to work will be about 30 miles, where as now i live on base, and just walk to work haha.

What have you guy's found to be the best solution for riding in the cold...

i have that cold weather suit on order actually anrkizm95, with all the great reviews it got, and it being the same price as any of the other nice cold weather jackets i figure i'd give it a go, Glad to hear it works well from you! :)

what are you using for a heat controller for the gloves and socks? Odds are i'll pass on the socks for now, but am curious what you have set up for the controller?

You would be surprised at how latex gloves worn under your gloves will keep your hands warm down to freezing.

+1 I also have Buell gloves and wear leather gloves over em like the old Army gloves they used to maybe still use and I really never get cold hands unless they are wet.

In Seattle, I used BMW Pro Winter gloves, and heated grips (on my Guzzi). Worked great. Good boots (Goretex--i used BMW Santiago or Sidi Canyons) and good riding pants (along with a good jacket, of course) go a long way...

Oh, and don't forget a good balaclava and maybe a pin-lock anti-fog shield...

I just got the 1st gear 1 piece cold weather suit,I see the add pop up on the right,in the ads for $170. I am very impressed ,as i have been riding to work in 38 to 40 deg weather and am not the least bit cold except for my feet (looking to get some good boots soon) & my olympia leather cold weather gloves (very good but heated would be better). I don't wear any extra layers under the suit either. Not too bulky, very comfortable and easy to get in and out of.

Does that suit have any armor at all? I'm all about staying warm but I want to be protected too. I'm about to get a set of plug in gloves and jacket liner. That should hopefully keep me warm and if not I may pick up some heated pant liners too.
