Looking for some input here.

i have an 08 1125R with the EBR ECM. Tires are shot and the front rotor needs replacement.. i tried cleaning/even sand blasting the rotor and it still pulses. So there's ~$600 in parts basically between tires/rotor/pads.

Guy offered me a 99 X1 lightning plus $2k. i was looking for more of a commuter bike, the x1 gets better gas mileage by far than the 1125r. I already have a jap bike for my cornering needs and never got into the 1125 too much.

Thoughts?

I'd take that in a heart beat. I like the tubers, and that one is fuel injected I believe.

how long is your commute?

I commute on my 99 X1 64 miles round trip a day and enjoy it-

the 99 was the first year of FI and did have some problems that where addressed on the 00 or 01...

some of which - primary tensioner, oil pump gear, updated shifter, updated shock...

I have addressed all of these on my bike and the bike runs great!

I would swap though.. the 99 is still a great bike! How many miles?
My bike gets 55mpg commuting-

I commute an easy 90 miles round trip, 55 mpg sounds phenomenol to me.. I'm getting 27-28 on the 1125.

I'm waiting for a reply on more details on the bike.

I think that's a fairly decent trade, depending on the mileage and condition of both bikes. Me personally, I would rather have an X1 than an 1125, but I know preferences are different everywhere. If the X1 doesn't need anything at all, and is in great working shape without a ton of miles, I think it's a good trade.

the x1 looks sweet. I loved the grunt of the tuned harley motors vs the rotax. I asked the guy for the info, will see what he comes back with

supposedly bikes in good shape, has an aftermarket exhaust , 22 k miles, and is yellow. Guy is going to get me pictures later.

These bikes don't need valve adjustments or anything like that, right? and with 22k miles i would assume its well sorted.?

no valve adjustment needed....

I would ask him if it has the updated bronze oil pump drive.. if not, i would replace that asap with that mileage....other then that you should be good.

Also, may want to replace the front motor mount bolts... these break over time and you dont want to have to drill these out of the heads.

Also remembered.. they updated both the front and rear frame isolators. not needed if the originals are ok.. but just be aware.

What about a 2005 XB9SX with 9k miles + 1K for your 1125CR? ;)

Edit: Right after hitting 'submit' realized it was a R not a CR. Good luck with the trade.

bike looks in real nice shape. if someone wants i can forward the photos, cant post them for some reason. even has the stock air intake and seems pretty legit.
