I recently bought another X1 Lightning. I've been going through and swapping some parts as needed (Injectors, plugs, ext). I Put the plugs in about 2 weeks ago and ever since then the idle is at 2k+, when the engine is hot.... It idles fine when it's first warning up, but the warmer it gets, the higher it idles (up to 2.25k). Any Ideas? I just swapped the O2 sensor so I dont think that is it.

Laptop, ecmspy and a cable. It's basically the same as a XB. Watch the DIY videos by Dave over here on the side>>>>>>>>>>
Or if your on a mobile device they are at the bottom.

Ok, Thanks Red! The Cable is on the way. I downloaded a tuning guide from xoptiinside.com/BuellTuningGuideEnglish.pdf . Ill watch those DIY videos soon. does it look like i have the right tuning guide?

Yup, that's going to be a good start. When you get good enough start tuning and enjoy! If you really want to learn from a good source buy a tuning package from The Tuniversity also a add on the side>>>>>

Right, thats what i was gathering. I also wanted to change my air intake to a hyper charger and eventually to a forced air-intake. Will that require more tuning than a TPS reset? Thanks for the help guy's!?!

Yes, data log and tune as nes. Most of the fuel tables will have to be modified or the minimum you will have to do is find a race tune that some one can email you. If all else fails I would suggest you buy the tuning package for tunerversity and learn the basics.

The ecmspy i received wouldn't Install correctly so i downloaded a German version, wich seemed to work fine (with minor translations). The TPS is reset and the idle is still high after it warms up. I will be troubleshooting best i can, but any tips would be Greatly Appreciated!

Check your intake seals, that would be my next step. Spray carb cleaner around the intake and see if the idle changes.

Red, You seem to be on point again! I changed the ET..Sensor.with no change. Wich led me to consider the throttle assembly and the air intake(seals). I found a gap in the seal. A small temp patch should tell if thats the culprit or not. Thanks Again!

Check your idle screw. I turned mine up over the winter so it would idle better in the cold weather but now that is has warmed up the idle is higher so I turned it down. It's a simple start before you delve in far.

All right, Since the last post I have, done a TPS reset sealed the stock intake (the best i could), changed engine and primary oil, changed plugs, coil and wires. The issue of the high idle seemed slightly helped with the attempt to seal the air intake, but not much, if at all. It recently began back firing when cruising second or third gear around three grand (r.p.m's) and today it ran Really Ruff, after another TPS reset. Its always run a little rich but it seems to have progressively got worse.

You should be able to change the language of the german version to english. Go to Konfiguration tab and then click on programm. There is a drop down box with some language options in it.

First of all I have heard that the temp sensors in the rear cylinders go bad about every 6 years. not sure if this would fix it but sounds possible.

Second, my bike dose idle high as soon as it is hot as well as doing everything in the description of This Video , I am waiting for my tps to show up. I will post if it fixed it once it showed up. I am not sure if this is really what yours is doing but might be worth a shot.

I just replaced my head temp sensor (i know i know it took me way to long) with no luck. Did you ever find the fix?
