Yes, it is a factory Not modified swingarm (except shaved mounts, and polished.) I did lots of research and lots of thinking/planning to get this achieved...Reading all other posts I figured handling would be terrible and I wouldn't need a kickstand anymore but it really does handle awesome! I can still throw it down into curves and it feels normal for an X1.
Here are two quickly made youtube videos.

Jdale... what guage cluster did you use? S1? Did your original guages and indicator lights fit? I want to do a dual lamp set up and have been scratchin my head on what to do with the guages. Nice bike!

Its really handling great! took it out several times this week and put almost 1000 miles on it! Getting lots of compliments[up]

Nice... both you guys did awesome work on your X1s. I am looking to get a dual headlamp set up but want to go with no fly screen. I want to keep my gauges but snug them in close to the handle bars. Probably end up making something simple out of aluminum. What bars are both you guys running? I like the look of clip-ons but they are too low for me. Need to figure out a happy medium.

I like the look of the hagen7 but they look so straight my elbos would be way out. Think I want something swept back more... but then u have the tank clearance to contend with... decisions.. I need to go to a bike shop with a large selection and try em out.
