Currently own a white with that beautiful candy blue frame 2001 X1 Lightning with less than 8,000mi and usual mods: forcewinder intake, V&H exhaust, Buell Race ECM, bar end mirrors, horn delete. I've been toying with the idea of getting a 1125CR, just love the way they look, but whenever I check the 1125 threads its full of complaints, are they really that bad?

Hell no, I absolutely love my 1125. Absolutely the best handling bike I have ever owned. There is a couple of issues as you have noticed from the forum, but they are well documented as are the fixes. As long as the weather holds out I'll hit 50K+ before winter. As with any Buell or any bike for that matter maintenance is everything. I probably read 5 or more XB help needed posts for every 1125 post. (Yes I know that there is a lot more Xb's than 1125's but seems (to me) that there is a lot more diversity to issues on the XB.) Are you talking about getting rid of the X1 for a 1125 or buying the 1125 and having both?

I absolutely love my CR. It's just as quirky as my XB, but it has never left me stranded (except when the battery died one day - it was older and the PO never left it on a tender).

Same......absolutely love my CR. I've had the two common issues and had to replace the stator/rotor and bleeding actuator. Other than that, I need to sell it and I just haven't been able to bring myself to part with it at all this year. Just landed from a 2.5 hour ride and was grinning the whole time.

i have put almost 4k on my cr this year and all in all has been one of the best bikes i have had. Fun factor at the top. I have only had normal maintenance issues. fork seals, front and rear pads and i do now have the clutch actuator is weeping...not really a big deal. stator and rotor are good to go. i do however put it on a tender. anytime i thought i had an issue, i came here and someone always got me back on the right page.

Are you kidding me? The 1125cr is everything my firebolt and s1 aren't. It's every bit as fast off the line, it has excellent power throughout, it handles like a dream, its top end is fantastic compared to my xb and my hands/wrists don't hurt from long rides. I wish it was around longer for people to discover how truly awesome this bike is. I'm thinking about getting another one

Between my wife and I we already have 3 bikes so I would probably have to let the X1 go to get a CR. Wouldn't want to, but would have to...that and I find it hard enough to try to ride two bikes let alone three. Prolly spend more time deciding which one to take rather than actually riding haha!
