X1 shifting sucks

My 2000 Buell x1 shifts fine from 1st to second when the engine is on the cold side but as soon as it warms up finding second is a pain in the ass. Now 2nd through 5th is fine. Could it be the primary oil. I just changed it with hd 20-50. Any help would be appreciated.

Get away from hd oil, go to amsoil it's way better. Make sure your primary chain is withing spec and if not, adjust.

Mileage is sitting at 15k and change. But it goes up every day.

Try adjusting shifter pawl, clutch and primary chain.
