XB swingarm on a Blast?

Buellxb Forum

Help Support Buellxb Forum:

The swingarm its self will bolt on. The problem comes with the shock. The blast one has the wrong eyelet on the swingarm side, and a xb is too long. When I did it I made a new upper shock mount. It puts it really high but I was doing a whole different tail so it wasn't a problem for me.

Matt,

If you had to guess, how short would the shock need to be to fit?

I think I read somewhere the XB shock is ~10.5" so would you need a ~5" shock to fit that swingarm?

Thanks,
Nels

How high is your seat with the XB swingarm? Curious if the taller bike handles as well?

I do believe that's the beginnings of the Mutant Blast, isn't it? The fuel injected super-motard-looking Blast.

It's been done for a couple of years now. Well as done as a bike can get; their never really done.

On the height, it's 33.5" tall, a few inches higher than my xb lightning with a tail lift. I'm 5'11" and I'm on the balls of my feet. It handles great. I can drag pegs no problem and don't have to worry about unloading the rear tire when making a right turn. With it being a little taller and the pro taper bars you can get a lot of leverage.

The link that oh9bolt posted above show pretty much everything. If you have any questions just ask.
Thanks Matt

I got a turbo and fi would work better then the carb.
Unless it's tiny, it's not worth it. The Blast isn't pumping out smooth enough exhaust flow for anything moderately-sized; you'll never get full spool.

I've a T25 sitting in my garage, and even it's too large.

Are you going 515, XB or Turbo? Seriously, you're throwing everything out there. Pick one, do it, improve on it.

Loose1 - how much additional weight does your blast have? Just curious because I have tried hard to lighten the bike and lower its center of gravity, and it looks like you went in a different direction. Are the swingarms comparable weight wise?

It is tiny...lol. Its for up to 1000cc diesel mower engines. Ill try to get some pics.

You're 492cc, not pushing as much exhaust.

Also don't forget that exhaust temperature plays a large role as well. Diesels have a hotter exhaust and the temperature differential across a diesel engine turbo is larger than across that of a gas-fired engine. Gas-fired engines rely more on flow to spin the turbine, which you don't have a lot of.

You'll eventually spool, eventually.

Pierce, it weighs 381lb wet.
The xb swingarm, with oil in it, is probability close to the same weight or lighter than the stocker.

Ive been working on somewhat of the same build. However, I plan on keeping it Carbed. Built motor though. Also will have the XB tank cover on it as well. Don't really know what it will be called, but some names could help from you guys. Here are some shots:
