How do you guys think my Black XB12Ss would look woth Sunset orange rims? I just want to be different.

go for it!

and have the outer rim painted black [up]

(so star & middle = orange / outer = black)

Yeah that would look sweet. You could also strip and polish that part as well instead of painting black. That would look sweet I think, it looks real nice on black wheels, never seen it on the orange ones. I have the orange wheels and was contemplating doing it. You did say you wanted to be different.....so dont copy my style :p [up]

or you can do all of the above :p

Well I was thinking, Sunset Orange rims and the aft seat from Buell with the Sunset Orange passenger section.

:D I REALLY LIKE THAT! :D
The black fade to orange is GREAT!!!
And the bare aluminum rim is a great compliment.
I'd go further and pinstripe the rim.

Glad you shared.

I've been wanting to trade my Sunset rims for some black ones because I think there is too much Sunset on the Ss. But now you have me thinking to change the rest of the plastic instead, or at least some of it. I think Kick Ash w/Sunset wheels would look pretty good.

I thought the same but may go with Carbon Fiber instead, I like the Kick Ash but have heard that the translucent plastics are hard to keep clean on the underneath

I want to do the "ultimate airbox" and use the transluscent to show off the K&N. I may wait a while and see how dirty my wifes hero blue gets underneath.

did you paint those yourself?

I'm about to paint mine red, but I want to give it a little kick.

Also I have no idea where to start taking the wheels off. Anyone have any hints?
