xb12r burning maps 08+

so i bought the ecmspy with the intentions of burning the race maps to my ecm. I read up on it and i follow all the instructions but its not matching up. then i find out that its not as easy to burn the maps on and 08+ xb12r. Can someone please give me a tutorial or a link to a video or some information on how to do this?

Hey Freak, did you sort out you running issues? And No, burning the race map is not easy. Especially for 08+ and where are you getting your map values from and for what setup? Are you trying to solve your problems with changing your fuel and timing maps? I dont recommend that approach unless you suspect someone has previously messed with the tune and messed up.

No i didn't i just wanna try to burn the stock maps back on there and see how that goes. then maybe the race maps.

Do you have a stock .bin file for it yet or just fuel tables and timing to copy and paste?
Edit: just realized youre using ecmspy? You should really be using tuner pro RT for 08+

I know I just downloaded that and I am trying to get started. I didnt realize ECMspy didnt work on 08+ and I really have no idea im just following that tutorial that is stated in the link above.

PM me when you have your appropriate xdf and bin files setup and can copy your computers .bin save it and back it up. I can send you a factory stock bin for that firmware from my bike.

ok man thanks alot. but for some reason when i download the plug in to let me burn maps it won't show up on tuner pro

For tuner pro did you download the buell plug in?

yep but when i go to tools then preferences to change it to the plug in the one i download isn't there

You have to move the plug in to the same file lacation/folder

OK i got it to work now. All's I need to do now is upload the maps but im still looking on how to do this. Also what does it mean if my TPS is at 9% when the throttle is completely closed. Is that too much?

And now I think I have locked up the ECM because i uploaded the STOCK 08 maps to tuner pro and my bikes fan started going and the engine light started flashing so i quickly uploaded the stock one i had saved and now it wont start. FML well it looks like i'm buying and EBR race ecm.

Sounds like you tried uploading the wrong firmware map. Thats bad.

Well I pulled the ecm fuse and pluggd it back in and now it starts so im just done with tunning. Ecm spy seems so much easier.

TunerPro RT is easy enough to use to download or upload maps but before attempting to do anything you need to read and make sure you understand the user and set up guides posted above.
