I have a 2008 XB12R firebolt. It cuts out and pops on low RPM's in 1st gear and doesn't seem like it has as much torque as it should. My buddy has an XB9R and that is producing way more toque than mine. I just changed spark plugs and it is still doing the popping and such. The bike has 5500 miles on it and i just bought it 2 weeks ago. The bike is also bone stock. Any suggestions?

TPS reset, may do the trick.
I have the same year and model. Key on killswitch off, hold throttle wide open, killswitch on, move throttle to fully closed with some tension, wide open, closed tight, wide open, closed tight, start it. Report back on results.

looks great. cleaned the throttle body. its just backfiring at low rpms. can't even stand the thing up.

I'd suggest trying to burn the race maps to the ecm. My 9 ran horrible when stock. It was so bad I was thinking about selling it. It had really bad popping, spitting and sputtering, and didn't seem very powerful, along with being VERY hot. After burning the race maps it runs cooler, stronger, and smoother. I did also change to the iridium ngk plugs one heat range colder, and did the breather reroute, which both seemed to help slightly too.

how do i do that. i hope you are right because i love my buell but i can't even ride it when it acts up this bad.

I'd think simple 1st... Bad gas, old gas, clogged injector, bad spark plug wire, bad ground???? How long has it sat seeing as how it has such low milage.. if you cant figure it out stop by a small independent shop OR believe it or not I've met some pretty cool HD mechanics.. Anyway, get someone's opinion who knows what they are talking about. (After they saw/ heard how its running). That's just what I'd do.

I'd double check your spark plug wires are seated onto the spark plugs... Also some. Dielectric grease on the plugs helps with connections...

I just changed them today and i know they are seated correctly. I believe its either a clogged injector or snrusnake said. I have the same exact problems as what he was saying. Like I said earlier my friends xb9r is whooping the **** outta me in power and mine also seems to run alot hotter than his.

Seafoam might help a lil with a clogged injector... Hopefully we can find/fix the problem soon...

Closely inspect around your heads. Those pops and loss if power can also be translated as misfires caused by a blown head gasket

I put sea foam in there. Still running like ****. Im going to take it to the harley shop today. Im just afraid they wont have any idea what they're doing and then charge me a shitload not to fix the problem

Well i went to HD and they said they think it's a clogged injector. They said put sea foam in it and drive it like I stole it. So i went and did that and after 1 and a half tanks, the pile still runs like ****.

could someone give me a link on where i buy them and If possible a video or manual on how to change them?
