I got a guy offering a pretty sweet trade on a Blast for a Mustang rat rod that I built but never use anymore.I figure Id pick it up to teach my girlfriend to ride on. Its mostly stock right now but I figure Id hook it up for her as either a café style or a street fighter once she gets a few miles under her belt and it would act as a back up for me in case my 12R goes down for repairs. I just have a few questions about Blasts.

1 Can the stock wheels run XB9 pulleys and belts?

2 Can it run XB wheels with the stock swing arm and front end? Can it run maybe tuber wheels instead?

3 any cheap rearset pegs that can run XB shift gear and rear brake?

4. can it run XBs handlebars? Any cheap clip-ons that could be used on the stock fork tubes?

5 How hard is it to delete the stock tail and fabricate a subframe to support maybe a 70s style racing tail?

6 Can it run a xb12R front jug, piston, head, conn rod and pushrods to get any more out of it and what would that bump it up to HP and Torque?

thanks

1. No
2. Without modifications, No and No
3. Cheap other than DIY? No
4. Yes, 1-7/8" bars and I forget the diameter of the tubes, but whatever fits will work.
5. Pretty damn hard.
6. Yes on jug and head, No on piston and conn rod. You need an XB9 domed piston for the compression ratio. The XB12 piston will drop your compression due to the shorter stroke. XB9 and Blast use the same length conn rod and same pushrods, no need to swap. XB jugs have larger cooling fins, otherwise they have the same bore. XB9 piston with an XB head is a nice bump in performance. You can also use XB cams, though timing them in a Blast is a little tedious.

Here's mine with an XB9R tail, jug, piston, head, cams, EFI, etc.
