Hey Everyone,
First off, I'm new to Buell's and a new rider altogether. I have ridden friends bikes in the past and picked up my 04 just a few weeks ago.
I'm having an issue with the seat to which I can only define as "crotch bite" :( without being any more graphic.
My question is if there is a mod I can perform or if there are comfortable seats out there I can switch out. I'm 5'8" with a 32" inseam. I have read a lot about gel seats and wanted to get peoples opinions on those as well.
Thanx,

click the link. It looks like American Sportbike has some for sale. The price is about half of what a gel seat for a Lighting cost. I'd almost spend that much on a seat. But a firebolt seat dont work on a lightning :( Guess I'm stuck with my skyline(board wrapped in vinyl) seat.
Welcome to wonderful world of V-twins.
Check out the link. Great folks at American Sportbike

Thanks Lesley,
I'll look into this further. Have you tried these out at all? Do the sit lower as well?

No I have not. I own a Scg which is the shortest of the Buell line. And I am about average height. I read lots of good comments about gel seats. Be patient and I am sure others with Firebolts will give you some ideas too.

I had my stock seat pans recovered, re-padded and a gel insert. I had a local gal do mine, but Baldwin saddles does good work.

meaning yes, I'm going to do some painting on factory Buell carbon fiber parts

Corbin seats is another option you can go with if you haven't already bought an aftermarket seat. As soon as I can get my bike out of her "storage" status, I'll get the Corbin seat. It supposedly is designed to help shorter riders, I'm 5'7" myself. Sucks not being able to stand completely flat-footed on a hill.
