Has anyone tried to take a XB12Ss and make it a XB12Rs? Is it even possible? I've seen the people put Firebolt plastics on a Uly, but what about on a Lightning? I just think it would be a cool conversion.

Doesnt the 12R have higher pegs? All u lightning guys talk about snapping off ur pegs, Iv barely touched mine and shes been pretty horizontal.

OK, here's the breakdown on Lightning to Firebolt conversions. If you have a Lightning you can put on a Firebolt front end easy. However, putting a Firebolt tail onto a Lightning is trickier as the electronics are under the seat of the Lightning and there is precious little room under the seat of a Firebolt. Doing a complete conversion would probably be easiest with a complete Firebolt wiring harness. There are possibly a few other things to consider with the Ss as some parts in the tail section are unique to the Ss

Hope this helped

And start snapping my pegs off? no thanks

Not sure I'm understanding this logic. If you took a Ss and put everything R on it as the O.P. suggested you would actually be less apt to snap pegs as the R pegs are 1" higher and the Ss ground clearance is a little higher than that of the R. So theoretically you would have higher lean angle on the converted bike than on a stock Firebolt.

The R definitely has higher pegs. I have like 1/8" of chicken strips on each side and my pegs never even come close to hitting the ground.

I guess I was thinking of a purely cosmetic conversion. Like a Lightning with Firebolt plastics/bars. But as you say switching the pegs out also would help;)
