[EDIT 1: I decided to order a replacement SPAL unit and will likely be changing the fan motor out into the existing housing]

As the thread title suggests, I was doing some troubleshooting last night on the cooling fan with multimeter and ECMdroid.

I figured I'd try the easiest thing first, turn on the fan test from ECMDroid and give the fan a push; it worked!

But the fan cannot operate unless I give it a gentle nudge or push (with a carpenters pencil) to get it going. After that it runs full speed for the duration of the test.

Backstory on fan:
- Came off original bike but was non-operative due to the leads touching the cylinder head.
- Fan leads were cut and attached to the connector of a broken fan.
- The fan body (currently installed) did not appear to be oil wetted or with any concerning amount of residue.
- The fan does have freedom of rotation when trying without it being powered, no snags or misshapen shroud.

Do you guys think it could be something as easy as the fan not seated correctly or do I need a fan motor swap or new cooling fan assembly? No CEL codes nothing, fuse is ok, relay is ok, head temp sensor is ok.

**UPDATE**
It ended up being that there was no continuity between the pin connector and the physical wire. Likely due to corrosion/grime in the area. I ended up buying a new SPAL fan and pressing it into the Buell housing.
In either situation, new pins and a crimp tool will be required for the fix.
But if you have a similar issue, check for connectivity starting right at the connector pin and the wire right after it.
Now it operates again.
