hey guys, new to the forum and buells. jus got a 05 xb9 city x with 8400 miles on her. it has a race ECU that says race on it as well as a modified factory exhaust. ran fine for 2 days and today after firing up and driving fine the fuel pump will not turn on or ignition. i pulled the battery and had it tested. it was fine. after i put it back in the ignition and fuel pump kicked on but as i tried to turn it over it clicked and everything shut off again. its also not showing that my bike is in neutral . also when i turn the key off both needles on the display go all the way to the right and back down. would a bad relay cause this? i moved them around and got nothin. any help would be great as i am new to the buell world. thanks in advance

sounds like you blew a fuse, it happens. just check fuses and make sure grounds are tight. if that doesn't help post back up and I'll come up with something else for you to try

checked fuses, all good. i tried jumping it with a charger before i took the battery to have it tested. could that have maybe fried my ecu? i also cut the tape back on all the wires in the triple tree to see if a wire had broke and nothing. my panel does not show that my bike is neutral (green light) my mileage is not showing up either. i hear a click in my relays when i try and start.

jumping it with a car can, it depends on how much voltage is being put into it. relays are pretty cheap, you may want to just replace them anyway. have you tried pulling in the clutch to see if the pump primes? the neutral switch in your primary may have gone out.

if your clutch switch works it should prime when you pull it in regardless if it's in neutral.

i replaced all relays and put stock ecu on and still nothin. starting to think i got a bad wire in the triple tree somewhere. when i pull the clutch the neutral light comes back on but no priming

Hey bud saw your issue, having the same issue. First check all your fuses, then switch your relays one at a time, do not pull them all at once, if still no go, Of the 3 relays Try jumping the key switch relay, see if you have power and can start the bike. I haven't pinned the issue down yet, but its either the key switch wiring or somewhere in the interlock wiring. Had no headlights or ecm power, jumped the hi power (get some spade connector and a small piece of wire and connect the 2 spades not the 3 on top on the relay with the key on the on position and she came right on. hopes this helps.

got tired of trying to track down the problem and took it to harley. my neutral switch was out as well as a bad ground under the air box somewhere.
