xb9r 02 runing rough.
push rod o rings ok (no leak) but took her for a run yesterday and not good .
1st, started ok idle ok at 1st i was in 4 gear at about 2000-2500rpm doin about 40mph throtle held at this speed then she shot forward as if i bliped the throtle also noticed rev's hanging up ,so i give her a good run seamed to be lacking power well throtle responce not as sharp as usual, when chainging gear rev's holding at about 3000rpm when i got to island the rev's droped to about 400rpm had to rev bike to keep it going ,as soon as i could i pulled over ,turned up idle to 1000rpm tryed to turn up a bit more but as i was turning rev's started to drop of again so had to turn it back but it would only settle at about 980rpm ,then give her another run about 5 miles rev's droping a bit faster through gear chaing thers a flat spot and dosent like running at lower speeds getting more backfireing on shut down ,
throtel cable not as lose as it should be but it was like this when i had her iv'e looked on forum and i think i need to TPS but befor i download ecm and buy a usb cable just wanted some help ps when put together all cables and sencers put back in place.

First thing I notice is that you're riding with the revs way too low.

You are just about stalling it.

Idle is just for idle, like when it is just standing there (before it walks itself off the stand and falls over). It has nothing to do with once the bike is moving.

i might be a bit vane in my explanation when i gave her a run i went through the gears takin rpm to 6000-6800 rpm between gear change (was goin some) pulled clutch in to change up rev's slow to drop even with throttle closed off rpm hanging at 3000rpm for about 8 seconds befor starting to drop, at this point i got to the island when throttle was closed clutch in when rev's droped from 3000rpm thay did drop i had to keep feathering throttle to keep her running ,then i pulled over stopped rpm would not keep her running ,(so checked fuel ok)presed run button could hear fuel pump good)tryed to start her would not run thats when i had to turn idle up to get her to run ie idle on her own ,took for another run still not as responsive as she used to be but rpm dropping a lot faster .

Kinda lose me on the island bit??

Suggest your clutch is arguing with you.

Try changing primary and setting the clutch back up.

thanks will give it ago ,ref primary can i use sportrans fluid (as i have 2 quarts )left over from me xlh1200 4 speed,or in the buell do i use synthetic 20w/50 V-Twin motor oil?.in primary on a xb9r 02 .

Sportrans is factory recommended. You'll soon hear a list of "better" options.

Follow the video in the DIY section.

I'd use the sportrans. If it makes things better, then you know the oil was bad/old and it would be a good idea to change it again after about 250-300 miles.

(I don't get hung up on "best" oil. I buy on sale. Change both oils frequently, long before they get to the "high mileage benefits".)

Don't forget the clutch adjustments. Also on the DIY videos.

thanks will look i bet its not far of the xlh set up .
will update on progress as soon as i have chance .
i used to chainge the xlh every 4 months .
