now im looking at a plate mount
14909_20120928113001_L.jpg

im planning on mounting the plate with a 1'' wide aluminum strip bent into a T. Two bolts in the belt cover.

I also just bought a new undertail to mod, im gonna try to fab it out so the undertail is completely flush with the underside of the tail. As for lights im either looking at a R6, ZX10, or Radiantz integrated led strip tail light,

thats it for now. more to come

I sadly found my baby lacking performance at times, just didnt have that litre bike power ive grown accustomed to, so i pulled her apart this winter with the intentions of doing some basic performance mods, air box, white wire etc etc, and to my surprise found the air box had already been modded, breather hose re-routed, and white wire pulled?? The guy I bought it from did work at a Harley shop so I guess that's really no surprise but it is however a disappointment.

On the bright side, I installed some new grips/bar ends, modded low beam lights and re chromed housings (makes a big difference btw), finished painting the fairings, a few other little things here and there. I'm ordering some tires here in a few days and while I have the wheels off I'm planning on painting my rims/polishing lips and finally getting some turn signals on the damn thing haha

I have two list of parts for mods that I started in 2011 while overseas and one last year with the S to R conversion, placed both of them in document protectors and kept next to my service and parts manuals.
What are you going to use for paint and what color? I have the same wheels and tired of polishing those damn things, want to get 'em powder coated, but my wallet can't support it at the moment.

Well before I do any painting I'm going to have to clean up my rims real good. Before I got ahold of it my bike it sat under some guys porch for a year and developed some hefty oxidation lol

As far as painting goes, I havn't put a whole lot of thought into it yet but my wallet, (figuratively) is about as deep as a kiddy pool, so powder coating is not an option here either. I have read up a lot on painting car rims in the past and for most circumstances a good coat of spray paint with a good durable clear coat will do the trick. Especially with how the spokes on our Buell rims are set back behind the lip. It's not a long term solution but it should still hold up for a substantial period with regular road use. Like I said I havnt put much thought into it but that's just what I had in mind anyways

nice dash, what's the theme...smoking gun?[smirk] i like the fade on the front fairing and the white band on the scoop...white wheels would look great with that paint scheme

Thanks! I honestly didnt have a theme in mind when I made the dash, I didnt have anything in mind actually, just kinda went with it ya know lol

Initaially I was going to do a marbelized blue on all the plastics but I was in a rush to get it on the road so I just sprayed it all down. Took about half an hour to paint the whole thing [up] At one point i considered adding some pinstripe accents like I did to my last bike but our buells are more rounded than angular and only have limited surface area due to lack of fairings, which is not a bad thing [cool]

I do agree with you on the white, but for the wheels I was imagining more of a gloss black spokes and centersection with polished lips and edges. Im slowly working on moving to a black/metallic purple theme. Thats the plan anyways[smirk]

A few small touch ups today, painted some bolts, put a little carbon fiber here and there. Ordered some turn signals today, http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewitem?itemId=281061370418,

Going to put the rear set on the passenger pegs, not sure about the front ones though. I'm having difficulty finding a spot easily viewable from the front and side where these things won't look completely out of place [confused] I may end up putting them on top of the control switch housings or just picking up some led strips from autozone.

Suggestions anyone? Comments? Rude remarks? Lol

FYI, I'm also on the lookout for a beat up air box cover to cut up if anyone has one they'd like to dispose of :p

Wouldn't the license plate flap around in the wind at high speeds if only bolted to the plastic belt cover? I'd go straight into the mounts for the cover itself.

And that pulley cover...just do something with else with it! The white trim on the left scoop works like a pin stripe would since its on paint and has a background, the pulley cover in white looks out of place since its all by itself.

Bike looks good though.[up]

swap the stock right scoop with the Uly comfort kit and paint it like the left instead of all white, add some blue to the pulley cover...loose the belt guards altogether or replace with the '04 model...I used the lower '04 only to replace the '03 ones, looks way better, you could also paint the headlight bezels white

'04 lower belt guard

Gloss black rims would look nice and wouldn't show dirt and grime as much as the natural finish. I love the look of my 'bolt with the natural finish of the wheels to compliment the frame but I am always cleaning the wheels. My other bike has painted gloss black wheels and they always seem to look clean - plus the smoother painted surface is actually easier to clean. I'm thinking about getting the 'bolt's wheels clear coated. It's fun to see what other owners are doing. Your bike looks great!

been looking for someone to trade wheels with, but no takers thus far, before my next set of tires thinking of tearing the wheels down and having 'em powder coated along with a few other things.

I am definitely looking at getting a right side scoop. I emailed asb for pricing of just the scoop itself. I should be ordering one of those within a week. I will end up painting it to match the other side.

And that pulley cover...just do something with else with it

Hahaha I agree! I've spent a good amount of time just staring at the damn thinking trying to figure out exactly what to do with it. I'm most likely going to paint it blue to match the lower fairing but that will throw off the whole symmetry of the bike... Which will really bother me lol. But I think that's probably my best option, maybe throw in some black accents on it or something.
