Hi everyone,

So I'm getting a new exhaust (haven't decided what yet) for my 2009 XB9SX (US) and it has a K&N air filter and a stock ECM. I tried researching various sites including this one in relation to the ECM and some sources say that on the 2008+ models the self learning makes buying an EBR ECM or tuning stock not necessary. I don't want to blow the engine in couple years of riding so I want to make sure I do the righty. Can anyone give advice on that please?

Also I have found twinmotorcycles.nl sell the correctly reprogrammed ECM but it requires to do TPS reset before every use...why is that?

I believe you have misread some info, when installing a new ecm it is best to reset the tps for the first time it is installed, you dont have to reset it before every use. Resetting it the first time just calibrates the tps to the ecm, so the ecm knows where the throttle is Nd when to give gas (in lack of better words, I hope that makes sense

Dris is standing around smelling gas (or smoking a little too much crack) if he thinks the TPS needs reset before you start the bike every time.
dean.....he might be hanging out with that guy who was on here a few years ago claiming that he resets his tps sensor after every fuel fill-up.

Yeah, I don't think I'll be getting this ECM haha - I'll get the blutooth cable and do it myself :D Cheers for your insights guys
