Sooooooooo, here is the deal. As most of you know I recently went in on a Daytona 675 for the track with my father. The bike is awesome but we already have a problem. I got acclimated to the track environment much faster than we both thought would happen and now we both ride in A group which means we have to share a turn and only get 4-5 sessions each or another bike is in order. I'm on the hunt for another Daytona but found a XB on craigslist that I'm considering. My goal is to keep both of us on comparable bikes so its fair between the two of us.

Well here is what if found, I have yet to call to see what has really been done to it but they are claiming 15K invested in it. So the big question is if this bike is indeed properly equipped can it be a formidable opponent compared to the Daytona withholding rider abilities and based only on the bikes capabilities, or should I just get another Daytona.

Do it then buy the Free Spirit Extra Trail kit off Trojan horse to give you the added 2deg for the track, sure it would help you out since you are already use to the 23deg trail on your Ss.

if you guys aren't on the same bikes then there will always be either 1. A great debate to drink over at the end of the day or 2. Certainty in who has superior skills. Sounds good either way, I say get the Buell and Wax Ass

i would get the daytona.
AMA said it was ok...
what a joke that was lets let the under powered 1200 in the 600 class but dont let the 675 in.if i was buell at that time i would say no thanks to save the embarrassment.

My Buell was a lot of fun on the track... but unfortunately proved to be very frustrating in the straight line. My vote is on the Daytona for the track.

Yay![up]

Get it! Two track bikes, YES! If they aren't evenly matched, well who gives a ****? If it comes up that one is faster than the other because solely to differences in bikes, JUST SWAP BIKES and see!!!! Don't let the who's who ruin the fun of track days, get the bike and both of you will be enjoying track days much more.

I just know from riding my Ss on the street vs the daytona everything is much less refined on the buell. The daytona is like a precision instrument, the buell takes a little more effort. I'm just wondering if all the extras this bike has is enough to fill the gap.

Just called, stock motor minus buell race kit[down], all the money was invested in suspension and braking and bodywork.

I thought it might stand a chance if it had a modded motor, but the daytona is putting out more power to the rear wheel than the 12 puts out at the crank. Game over for this bike now that I know what has been done to it.

Theres more to a track bike than the #s the motor makes, or else everyone would be on the same bike.
Now a stock xb might have issues in A group, but then 1/2 the fun is building the bike the way you want it.

Just my $0.02
